Resumo: The present work starts from the historical roots of the north fluminense coast after the arrival of the portuguese until today, highlighting the city of Macaé. It evokes modern development and the territory, aiming to analyze the macaense cultural identity, altered by the migratory flow. In view of this, it carries out a bibliographic review on the territory used by Milton Santos, as well as the places and not places of Marc Augé, applying them in the understanding of the current Macanese society and its specificities. Therefore, it presents quantitative data on social formation and cultural aspects of the city's society to support the argument that individuals involved in the continued migratory flow (commuting and precarious work) may, in the imaginary, have this city as a non place.

Evoca el desarrollo moderno y el territorio, con el objetivo de analizar la identidad cultural de macaense, alterada por el flujo migratorio. En vista de esto, realiza una revisión bibliográfica sobre el territorio utilizado por Milton Santos, así como los lugares y no lugares de Marc Augé, aplicándolos en la comprensión de la sociedad macanesa actual y sus especificidades. Por lo tanto, presenta datos cuantitativos sobre la formación social y los aspectos culturales de la sociedad de la ciudad para apoyar el argumento de que las personas involucradas en el flujo migratorio continuo (desplazamientos y trabajo precario) pueden, en el imaginario, tener a esta ciudad como un no lugar.O presente trabalho parte das raízes históricas do litoral norte-fluminense após a chegada dos portugueses até a atualidade, realçando a cidade de Macaé. Evoca o desenvolvimento moderno e o território, visando analisar a identidade cultural macaense, alterada pelo fluxo migratório. Em vista disso, realiza revisão bibliográfica sobre o território utilizado por Milton Santos, bem como os lugares e não lugares de Marc Augé, aplicando-os no entendimento da atual sociedade macaense e suas especificidades.
