Resumo: The aim of this article is to focus on the use of the metaphor of the Holocaust in the Sylvia Plath’s poetry (1932-1962), in order to examine both the functions as the limits of literary creation. Taking into consideration the autobiographical and poetic suicide of the American writer, will be on the horizon the reading and analysis of poems “Daddy”, “Lady Lazarus”, “Words” and “Edge”.
