TOURISTIC DESTINATIONS: BETWEEN ECOEFICIENCY AND COMPETITIVITY

Resumo: Finding a balance between the self-development of touristic destinations and the respect for the environment on one side, and the development of a competitive economic activity on the other, can be particularly challenging. It's a fact since a while that economic activity can create synergies interacting closely with both environment and society. The development of tourist destinations and the environment are, in fact, directly related. This prerogative does the tourism as the driving force for the guardianship and for the development of destinations, directly by their awareness and by economic sustainability. Tourism should be competitive but responsible, today more than ever, recognizing that, in a long term, competitively depends on sustainability and environment protection. Today climate changes are considered an important topic and touristic industry must contribute on the decrease of the emissions responsible for the global warming, while destinations are invited to suit climatic changes of demand model and to modify, as a consequence, the different kinds of touristic supply.

Se reconoce entonces que la actividad económica puede criar sinergias relacionándose con el ambiente y con la sociedad en manera continua. El desarrollo de los destinos turísticos está de hecho directamente relacionado con su contexto ambiental. Esta prerrogativa hace del turismo la fuerza motriz para la tutela e para el desarrollo de los destinos, directamente por la sensibilización y por la sustentabilidad económica de los mismos. Las tendencias y las prioridades globales cambian. Hoy, más que nunca, el turismo tiene que ser competitivo, teniendo en cuenta el medio ambiente y reconociendo que la competitividad depende de la sostenibilidad y del medio ambiente. Las alteraciones climáticas son actualmente consideradas una temática fundamental y la industria turística está llamada a contribuir para la reducción de las emisiones responsables del efecto estufa, mientras los destinos están invitados para que se adecuen a los cambios del modelo de demanda y a modificar, como consecuencia, los tipos de oferta turística.Encontrar um ponto de equilíbrio entre o desenvolvimento autônomo dos destinos turísticos e a tutela do meio ambiente, por um lado, e o desenvolvimento de uma atividade econômica competitiva, por outro, pode ser um empreendimento difícil. Reconhece-se no entanto que a atividade econômica pode criar sinergias interagindo com o ambiente e a sociedade em maneira assídua. O desenvolvimento dos destinos turísticos é de fato diretamente ligado ao seu contexto ambiental. Esta prerrogativa faz do turismo a força motriz pela tutela e pelo desenvolvimento dos destinos, diretamente por meio da sensibilização e da sustentabilidade econômica nos mesmos. As tendências e as prioridades globais mudam. Hoje mais do que nunca o turismo tem que ser concorrencial, tendo em conta o meio ambiente e reconhecendo que, a longo prazo, a competitividade depende da sustentabilidade e do meio ambiente.
