TOPICS, REPORT AND METHODS OF BRAZILIAN SYSTEMATIC REVIEWS ABOUT CINEMA:: an umbrella review

Resumo: In addition to having a notable social impact, cinema is a leisure resource that has aroused the interest of researchers from different areas of knowledge, including authors of systematic reviews (SRs). SR is a widely used method that fits any area of research. However, little is known about the use of this method in cinema studies. With the aid of the AMSTAR 2 tool, I analyze the themes, reporting and methods of Brazilian SRs on cinema. Through an umbrella review (review of SRs) I identified seven SRs that met pre-established eligibility criteria. I analyzed the content of these SRs and identified that they cover themes such as psychiatry, cinema therapy, physical education, resilience, special education and sound. Unfortunately, these SRs have limitations in reporting and methods that hinder their assessment and decrease confidence in their findings. Efforts to improve adherence to good practices in the production and reporting of SRs can favor the cumulative development of knowledge about cinema.

RS es un método ampliamente utilizado que se adapta a cualquier área de investigación. Sin embargo, se sabe poco sobre el uso de este método en los estudios de cine. Con la ayuda de la herramienta AMSTAR 2, analizo los temas, informes y métodos de las RSs brasileñas acerca del cine. A través de una revisión paraguas (revisión de RSs) identifiqué siete RSs que cumplían con los criterios de elegibilidad preestablecidos. Analicé el contenido de estas RSs e identifiqué que cubren temas como psiquiatría, terapia de cine, educación física, resiliencia, educación especial y sonido. Desafortunadamente, estos RSs tienen limitaciones en los informes y métodos que dificultan su evaluación y disminuyen la confianza en sus hallazgos. Los esfuerzos para mejorar la adherencia a las buenas prácticas en la producción y presentación de informes de RSs pueden favorecer el desarrollo acumulativo del conocimiento sobre el cine.O cinema além de ter notável impacto social é um recurso para o lazer que tem despertado o interesse de pesquisadores de diversas áreas do conhecimento, incluindo autores de revisões sistemáticas (RSs). A RS é um método amplamente utilizado que se ajusta a qualquer área de pesquisa. Contudo, pouco se sabe sobre o uso desse método em estudos sobre cinema. Com o auxílio da ferramenta AMSTAR 2, eu analiso as temáticas, reporte e métodos de RSs brasileiras sobre cinema. Por meio de uma revisão guarda-chuva (revisão de RSs) identifiquei sete RSs que atenderam critérios de elegibilidade pré-estabelecidos. Analisei o conteúdo dessas RSs e identifiquei que elas abrangem temáticas como psiquiatria, cinematerapia, Educação física, resiliência, Educação especial e sonorização. Infelizmente, essas RSs possuem limitações no reporte e métodos que dificultam sua avaliação e diminuem a confiança em seus achados.
