Resumo: This work focuses on the public cultural policy called Points of Culture/Cultura Viva (2004-2016) in order to understand how it operates in urban geographical territories called ‘community’ in the city of Belo Horizonte/MG. As this policy was designed to streamline, promote and stimulate community-based culture in all regions of Brazil, this article seeks to comprehend the meaning of this territoriality named as 'community' both in theory and in practice taking as a case study two cultural associations of Belo Horizonte.

Como esta política fue diseñada para dinamizar, promover y estimular la cultura basada en la comunidad en todas las regiones de Brasil, este artículo busca comprender el significado de esta territorialidad llamada 'comunidad' tanto en teoría como en la práctica tomando como caso de estudio dos Puntos de cultura de Belo Horizonte.Este trabalho focaliza a política cultural pública denominada Pontos de Cultura/Cultura Viva (2004-2016) com o intuito de compreender sua implementação nas territorialidades geográficas urbanas denominadas ‘comunidade’ na cidade de Belo Horizonte/MG.
