The world of work presents a diversity of contradictions pertinent to the system. While workers struggle for less alienating and problematic aspects, it is also necessary to organize for the maintenance and expansion of rights as a professional category. The social scientist is a professional who is constantly questioning his contribution, both as a scientist and as a critic. However, it is a fact that this professional is in several spaces, working on the "social part" of projects focused on social groups. As a methodological approach, this publication analyzes collaborative activities in non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The Social Scientist of the future needs to identify the market and his/her professional contribution, but how to do this? The interviews present trajectories of Social Scientists, active in various contexts in the Amazon region, and their views on this professional category and their contributions to projects that value human rights and socio-environmental issues in the region.
