Resumo: The book exposes scientific racism in the era of imperialism, when the colonizing countries endeavored to demonstrate their conquests in (and from) other territories, claiming to take “civilization” to primitive peoples. One of these practices was the display of people in what was conventionally called "human zoos". The book is of great interest as it illustrates admirably well a recent (and deplorable) phase of the History of colonialism and imperialism, whose repercussions and consequences we feel and perceive today, in which we have identified a certain preeminence of unique thinking and a good deal of denial, which has only contributed to perpetuate racism, intolerance to differences, inequalities and to continue to accept a certain neo-colonialist stance, even within organizations.

El libro es de gran interés porque ilustra admirablemente bien una fase reciente (y deplorable) de la Historia del colonialismo e imperialismo, cuyas repercusiones y consecuencias sentimos y percibimos hoy, en la que hemos identificado una cierta preeminencia de un pensamiento único y negacionismo, que sólo han contribuido a perpetuar el racismo, la intolerancia a las diferencias, las desigualdades ya seguir aceptando una cierta postura neocolonialista, incluso dentro de las organizacionesO livro desnuda o racismo científico na era do imperialismo, quando os países colonizadores se empenhavam em demonstrar suas conquistas em (e de) outros territórios, alegando levar a “civilização” a povos primitivos. Uma dessas práticas era a exibição de gente no que se convencionou chamar de “zoológicos humanos”.
