Resumo: In photography, contrast is the difference between the darkest and the lightest areas of an image, delimiting what is visible and what is not. The cover image portrays some of the contrasts of Florianópolis, the capital city of Santa Catarina. On Esteves Júnior Street, located in the central limits of the city, artificial lights reveal details of the European colonial architecture, in a perpetual present that contrasts with modern buildings in the background. In the darkness, among the mountains of the island that embellish the tourist landscapes, the unseen at the end of Esteves Júnior Street is the shelter of the communities Alto da Caeira and Serrinha, hidden not only by the hill itself on a rainy winter night, but also in the daily life of the tourist city, folklorically known as "Magic Island". Florianopolis keeps vivid the historical contrasts of "what" and "who appears", and about this the photograph gives us a hint.

En la oscuridad, entre las montañas de la isla que embellecen los paisajes turísticos, lo que no se ve al final de la Rua Esteves Júnior es el refugio de las comunidades de Alto da Caeira y Serrinha, ocultas no sólo por la propia colina en una noche lluviosa de invierno, sino también en la vida cotidiana de la ciudad turística, folclóricamente conocida como la "Isla de la Magia". Florianópolis mantiene vivos los contrastes históricos de "qué" y "quién aparece", y sobre esto la fotografía nos da una pista.Na fotografia o contraste é a diferença entre as áreas mais escuras e mais claras de uma imagem, delimitando o que é visível e o que não é visível. A imagem da capa retrata alguns dos contrastes de Florianópolis, cidade capital de Santa Catarina. Na rua Esteves Júnior, localizada nos limites centrais da cidade, luzes artificiais revelam detalhes da arquitetura colonial europeia, num presente perpétuo que contrasta com edificações modernas mais ao fundo. Na escuridão, entre as montanhas da ilha que embelezam as paisagens turísticas, o não visível ao fim da rua Esteves Júnior é o abrigo das comunidades Alto da Caeira e Serrinha, ocultas não só pelo próprio morro numa noite chuvosa de inverno, mas também na vida cotidiana da cidade turística, folcloricamente conhecida como “Ilha da Magia”.
