Resumo: | The study verified the influence of subsidy and government assistance on the performance of companies listed on B3. To this end, it conducted a descriptive, documentary and quantitative research in publicly-held companies that had data available for the period from 2011 to 2018, and the study sample consisted of 272 companies. Data were not collected from the Economática® database. Subsequently, descriptive statistics and linear regression analysis were performed, no STATA statistical software. The results show that companies that have subsidies and government assistance have better performance indicators. The study helps to understand how companies that receive government subsidies and assistance commit themselves to the government and a society to foster economic and financial performance. Otherwise, companies that are prone to non-subsidizing and government assistance perform poorly. In addition, they face sliding competition against investments. |
