Resumo: The present work aims to create a theoretical model to understand the experience lived by interacting elderly people attending the Public Archive of the State of Espírito Santo (APEES), in the municipality of Vitória, state of Espírito Santo. This study is based on a qualitative research strategy, with the purpose of identifying deeper perceptions, such as feelings and emotions, having as a technique the content analysis of ten interviews, with regulars of the Public Archive of the State of Espírito Santo (APEES ) aged over 65 years who could have experiences to report the phenomenon researched. In view of the research problem presented and in relation to the methodological aspects, it was concluded that the experience lived by the elderly can be described through the interaction of five experiences that involve the spheres: aesthetic and tangible, social and informative, recreational and escapist, administrative and services. It appears that in addition to guaranteeing citizens' rights to quality products and services, there are relationships between diffusion and mediation in practical terms in the archive's environment, prospecting the relationship and mutual interactions within the reach of multiple interactants.

Este estudo encontra-se alicerçado em uma estratégia qualitativa de pesquisa, com a finalidade de identificar percepções mais profundas, como sentimentos e emoções, tendo como técnica a análise de conteúdo de vinte entrevistas, com frequentadores APEES com idade superior a 60 anos que pudessem ter experiências para relatar o fenômeno pesquisado. Diante do problema de pesquisa apresentado e em relação aos aspectos metodológicos, concluiu-se que a experiência vivenciada por idosos pode ser descrita sob a interação de cinco experiências que envolvem a esferas: estética e tangível; social e informativa; recreativa e escapista; os produtos e serviços.
