There are many social and cultural factors that approach countries with official language Portuguese. In the case of Brazil and Mozambique, the countries approach each other through language and also through the society, as Brazil is the country with the largest Afro-descendant population in Latin America. Recognizing the importance of establishing a literary exchange between the two countries in higher education, this work intends to examine the literary exchange between the collections of university libraries at Universidade Eduardo Mondlane (Mozambique) and Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (Brazil). The identification of Brazilian and Mozambican literature in the collections of library systems was established from an exploratory-descriptive research, realized in July 2021 in the online catalog of libraries. The study points out that the literary exchange between Brazil and Mozambique is still small, especially with regard to literary works.
