Resumo: Analyzes the record management parameters in a Brazilian electricity company. It aims to compare the guidelines for carrying out document management exposed in the literature with the reality found in the company. Methodologically it consists of an exploratory case study of qualitative approach, involving also bibliographical research and direct observation. The collection of data involved the literature about record management, in the form of journal articles, and within the department responsible for document management of the company. The results demonstrate the establishment of some activities of the record management, most of which are under the responsibility of an outsourced company, without alignment with the literature, as well as certain complications regarding the procedural flow over the documents. It is concluded that is necessary an adequate parameterization of the document management, not only for joint establishment with what the literature brings, but also to reflect more quickly on the document mass produced and generated internally by the investigated company.

Objetiva comparar as atividades base para realização da gestão documental, expostas na literatura, com a realidade encontrada no locus de investigação. Metodologicamente, consiste em estudo de caso exploratório de abordagem qualitativa, envolvendo pesquisa bibliográfica e observação direta. A coleta dos dados foi consubstanciada na literatura versada em gestão documental, na forma de artigos de periódicos e, ainda, no âmbito do departamento responsável pela gestão documental da empresa. Os resultados demonstram o estabelecimento de algumas atividades de gestão documental, boa parte das quais sob responsabilidade de uma empresa terceirizada, sem alinhamento com o previsto na literatura, bem como certas intercorrências no que se refere ao fluxo procedimental sobre os documentos.
