Resumo: This article aims to understand the work of researchers in Brazil under the conditions of changes in the profile of the scientist demanded by capital and to reflect on the phenomenon of brain drain from the nation. Researchers in the commitment to science, while internationalizing and developing their work, live contradictions in the immersion with intersecting cultures. These intellectuals, however, work under new global trends created by worldized science, a circumstance in which they can take themselves to the extreme of exploiting their technical and epistemological capacities. The intellectual work in the capitalist system, in the face of the movement of internationalization of higher education and constant economic crises that reverberate in the scientific field, seem to be contributing to the accentuation of the phenomenon of the evasion of scientists from Brazil.
