The training of social service assistants continuity and discontinuity in the transmission of knowledge

Resumo: Based on alternance, the training of social workers is strongly structured by history of the profession and by laws. This continuity doesn’t interfere with the discontinuities induced by the dialectic of alternance and by the dissonance between training and professional practice. These differences can be considered as tension systems and are integrated over the long time of practice, following biographical paths and exchanging of knowledge and soft skills between co-workers. This article is based on interviews and observations and shows how the gap between training and function is understood through a set of so-called or hidden, formal or informal knowledge.

Estas disyunciones pueden considerarse como sistemas de tensión y se integran en el largo tiempo de la práctica, según los recorridos biográficos, los intercambios de saberes entre colegas y una revisión de la relación con los conocimientos. Este artículo se basa en entrevistas y observaciones y muestra cómo la brecha entre la formación y la función se entiende a través de un conjunto de conocimientos, tanto formales como informales.Basée sur l’alternance, la formation des assistants de service social est fortement structurée par l’histoire de la profession et par les lois. Cette continuité ne doit pas occulter les discontinuités induites par la dialectique de l’école et du terrain et par la dissonance entre la formation et l’exercice professionnel. Ces disjonctions peuvent être considérées comme des systèmes de tension et sont intégrées dans le temps long de la pratique, au gré des parcours biographiques, des échanges de savoirs entre collègues et d’un remaniement du rapport aux savoir. Cet article est basée sur des entretiens et des observations et montrent comment le décalage entre la formation et la fonction est appréhendé grâce à un ensemble de savoirs dits ou cachés, formels ou informels.Baseada na alternância, a formação dos assistentes de serviço social é rigorosamente estruturada pela história da profissão e pelas leis. Esta continuidade não deve ocultar as descontinuidades induzidas pela dialética entre a escola e a área e a pela dissonância entre a formação e o exercício profissional. Essas disjunções podem ser consideradas como sistemas de tensão e são integradas no longo tempo da prática, em cada grau dos percursos biográficos, das trocas de saberes da experiência entre colegas e de uma reelaboração da relação com o saber.
