This article aims to describe the work and memory of aging women of the remaining Quilombola Rural Community of São Joaquim de Paulo, in Vitória da Conquista – Bahia, which define themselves as quilombolas through their oral testimony. So, with the aid of memory, we narrate the experiences of these women in agricultural work, which is based on solidarity and is shared among family members, showing a concern for the common welfare and with the formation of a collective consciousness. As methodological assumptions we use content analysis, model of Bardin, to carry out the analysis of the interviews, from this method, emerged the categories: memory, work and ageing. The study focuses on memory, in construction and reconstruction made in the present, from the relationship of belonging to this group, whose members are articulated among themselves the through experiences of the past. The research showed that the women’s work is the means of survival of the family, as well as an achievement of their autonomy and self-esteem. Furthermore, we note that the aging process was not a predominant factor to limit these women in their labor activities.__Este artigo tem como objetivo descrever a memória do trabalho e do envelhecimento de mulheres da Comunidade Remanescente de Quilombo São Joaquim de Paulo, em Vitória da Conquista - Bahia, que se autodefinem como quilombolas por meio dos seus testemunhos orais. Assim, com auxílio da memória, narramos às experiências dessas mulheres no trabalho agrícola, que se assenta na solidariedade e é compartilhado entre os membros da família, denotando uma preocupação com o bem-estar comum e com a formação de uma consciência coletiva. Como pressupostos metodológicos utilizamos a análise de conteúdo, modelo de Bardin, para a realização das análises das entrevistas. A partir desse método, emergiram as categorias: memória, trabalho e envelhecimento. O estudo concentra-se na memória, na construção e na reconstrução feitas no presente, a partir da relação de pertença desse grupo, cujos membros articulam entre si as vivências e as experiências do passado. A pesquisa evidenciou que o trabalho das mulheres é o meio de sobrevivência da família, como também uma conquista de sua autonomia e autoestima. Ademais, verificamos que o processo de envelhecimento não foi fator preponderante para limitar essas mulheres nas suas atividades laborativas.
