Resumo: | The objective of this research was to analyze the perceptions of residents about the teaching and learning process in their training in practice scenarios and their adaptation to it. Twenty-five second year residents participated in five multiprofessional residency programs of a São Paulo public school, who answered a questionnaire with open and closed questions on the subject. The results indicated that the residence is a powerful training space, in which active methodologies are used and a certain autonomy of the residents is developed. The teaching and learning process has taken place in the preceptories in order to facilitate the integration of teaching and service. There are, however, some limitations to be overcome, such as clarification of the roles of residents and preceptors, the activities planned for training and characterization of the profile of incoming residents. They identify the need to strengthen the preceptor-resident relationship, improve the reception of residents, especially those without experience of active methods, and continuous investment in the training of preceptors. |

They identify the need to strengthen the preceptor-resident relationship, improve the reception of residents, especially those without experience of active methods, and continuous investment in the training of preceptors.
