Teaching and practing mental health in the classroom: undergraduate monitoring

Resumo: | In the context of the return to face-to-face activities after facing the measures to contain the covid-19 health crisis, this text records the report of an undergraduate monitoring experience in the discipline of Educational Psychology with an emphasis on mental health in educational communities. The objective of this article is to contribute to the production of pedagogical knowledge that has in its scope the promotion of mental health within educational communities, aiming at the possibility of undergraduate students being agents of mental health promotion in their teaching practices. One of the peculiarities of this study is that it presents the mental health demands experienced by the students of the monitored discipline and student-author. To produce this document, a description of the activities carried out in the classroom during the teaching monitoring actions was carried out, with the record based on notes made in a field diary. The analysis shows that pedagogical and curricular practices in the classroom, with a background to the promotion of mental health in the school-university environment, can generate bonds and provide safe learning environments even after a period of great instability such as during the pandemic. |

El objetivo de este artículo es contribuir a la producción de conocimiento pedagógico que tenga en su ámbito la promoción de la salud mental dentro de las comunidades educativas, apuntando a la posibilidad de que los estudiantes de pregrado sean agentes de promoción de la salud mental en sus prácticas docentes. Una de las peculiaridades de este estudio es que presenta las demandas de salud mental experimentadas por los estudiantes de la disciplina monitoreada y por el estudiante-autor. Para la elaboración de este documento, se realizó una descripción de las actividades realizadas en el aula durante las acciones de monitoria, con el registro basado en anotaciones realizadas en un diario de campo. El análisis muestra que las prácticas pedagógicas y curriculares en el aula, con antecedentes de promoción de la salud mental en el ámbito escolar-universitario, pueden generar vínculos y proporcionar entornos de aprendizaje seguros incluso después de un período de gran inestabilidad como durante la pandemia.No contexto de retorno às atividades presenciais, após o enfrentamento das medidas de contenção da crise sanitária da covid-19, o presente texto registra o relato de experiência de monitoria de graduação na disciplina de Psicologia da Educação, com ênfase em saúde mental em comunidades educativas. O objetivo deste artigo é contribuir para a produção de saberes pedagógicos que tenham em seu escopo a promoção de saúde mental dentro das comunidades educativas, visando a possibilidade de alunos de licenciaturas serem agentes de promoção de saúde mental em suas práticas docentes. Uma das peculiaridades deste estudo é que ele apresenta as demandas em saúde mental vivenciadas pelos alunos da disciplina acompanhada e pela aluna-autora. Para a produção deste documento, foi feita uma descrição das atividades realizadas em sala de aula durante as ações de monitoria de ensino, com o registro a partir de anotações feitas em diário de campo.
