The integrated practice of the nurse preceptor in the process of formation: the teaching and caregiving as participants of the same process

Resumo: Objective: To understand the nurse preceptor in the perspective of integrated practice and its role in the training of health professionals. Method: Qualitative, exploratory and descriptive, implemented through free observation and interviews. Data submitted to the analysis of thematic content. Thirteen nurse preceptors who work in the program Estratégia Saúde da Família (ESF) [Family Health Strategy] of the municipality of Teresópolis-RJ took part in this study. Results: There is a need to strengthen the exchange and integration of health services with the educational institution, which uses the ESF for training, as well as to make theoretical and practical components complementary, allowing future professionals to recognize and work on meeting the demands of health. Two categories were generated: the nurse preceptor as a relationship builder: new perspective and practice in the SUS reality; The practice integrated into the ESF as a space of innovation and training of nurses. Conclusion: It was evidenced that the nurse preceptor, as a professional who takes care of individuals and, at the same time, shapes the future professionals, experiences a fruitful and dynamic movement of teaching and learning.

Método: qualitativo, descritivo e exploratório, efetivado por meio de observação livre e entrevistas. Dados submetidos à análise de conteúdo temático. Participaram 13 enfermeiros preceptores que atuam na Estratégia Saúde da Família (ESF) do município de Teresópolis, no Rio de Janeiro. Resultados: há necessidade de fortalecimento do intercâmbio e da integração entre os serviços de saúde com a instituição de ensino que utiliza os espaços da ESF para a formação, bem como para que componentes teóricos e práticos sejam complementares, possibilitando que os futuros profissionais reconheçam e trabalhem no atendimento das demandas de saúde. Duas categorias foram geradas: o enfermeiro preceptor como construtor de vínculos: novo olhar e fazer na realidade do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS); a prática integrada na ESF como espaço de inovação e de formação do enfermeiro.
