Resumo: The insertion of new features in pedagogical practice is an important ally to the teaching process. The use of videos released by the media aims to ensure access to knowledge in different ways and to improve the dynamics of teaching in the classroom. This study aims to assess the contribution of the inclusion of series and videos with Parasitology content during classrooms as a complementary teaching strategy. TV series episodes like “House, M.D.” and “Monsters inside me” were showed and critically discussed. The activities were evaluated through questionnaires and students’ performance in the theoretical test. The results showed great acceptance of activities, and indicate a better performance in the theoretical test by those who watched the videos (68% of students scored ≥50%) when compared to those who did not watched the videos (52% of students scored ≥50%), having a beneficial effect to their learning.

Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais2017-06-30info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.ufmg.br/index.php/rdes/article/view/225710.35699/2237-5864.2017.2257Revista Docência do Ensino Superior; Vol. 7 No. 1 (2017); 44-56Revista Docência do Ensino Superior; Vol. 7 Núm. 1 (2017); 44-56Revista Docência do Ensino Superior; v. 7 n. 1 (2017); 44-562237-58642358-6338reponame:Revista Docência do Ensino Superior (Online)instname:Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG)instacron:UFMGporhttps://periodicos.ufmg.br/index.php/rdes/article/view/2257/1415Copyright (c) 2017 Thais Paradelas, Danuza Mattos, Adriana Pittella Sudré, Patrícia Riddell Millar, Beatriz Brener, Daniela Lelesinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessParadelas, ThaisMattos, DanuzaSudré, Adriana PittellaMillar, Patrícia RiddellBrener, BeatrizLeles, Daniela2020-05-19T18:06:55Zoai:periodicos.ufmg.br:article/2257Revistahttps://periodicos.ufmg.br/index.php/rdes/indexPUBhttps://periodicos.ufmg.br/index.php/rdes/oairevistadocenciaensinosuperior@ufmg.br||2237-58642237-5864opendoar:2020-05-19T18:06:55Revista Docência do Ensino Superior (Online) - Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG)false
