Resumo: | This research is a quantitative and descriptive study made in a hospital in the city of Belo Horizonte. It aims to alert parents and health professionals to the most common childhood injuries happenning to children from 1 to 3 years old. The research was based in the hospital emergency care reports (from the hospital database) between January and December 2007.The data analysis was made according to the International Classification of Diseases (ICD 10). 499 medical reports were selected, being 42% of a female patient and 58% of a male one. 64,5% of the accidents happened to infants aged between 1 to 2 years, while 35,5% to children between 2 to 3 years old. An unspecified head injury was responsible for the percentage gap between the two age groups. According to the medical diagnosis and the International Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, 92 types of accidents were observed and organized in ten categories: transport accidents; hypothermia; choking and suffocations; poisoning; falls; fractures; burns and scalds, traumas. The research offered important data for the prevention of accidents and injuries in childhood. |

Su objetivo fue ayudar adivulgar entre padres y profesionales de la salud los principales tipos de accidentes con niños entre uno y tres años. Los datos fueron recogidos de los informes archivados en el sector de informática del hospital. Fueron seleccionados 499 informes de niños de uno a tres años víctimas de accidentes, entre enero y diciembre de 2007, atendidos en Urgencias. Los datos fueron analizados según la Clasificación Internacional de Enfermedades y problemas relativos a la salud - (CIE 10). Del total estudiado 42% son del sexo femenino y 58% del sexo masculino. Fueron observadas 499 víctimas de accidentes, 42% del sexo femenino y 58% del sexo masculino. Se observó que predominan en un 64,5% los accidentes con niños entre uno y dos años. Los accidentes con niños de 2 y 3 años fueron del 35,5%. El trauma no especificado de cabeza fue el principal tipo de accidente responsable de tal diferencia. En base al diagnostico medico y de acuerdo con la Clasificación Internacional de Enfermedades y problemas relativos a la salud fueron encontrados 92 tipos de accidentes que se reagruparon en diez categorías: accidentes automovilísticos, hipotermia, cuerpo extraño, efectos tóxicos, heridas, fracturas, intoxicaciones, caídas, quemaduras y traumatismos. La investigación aportó datos importantes para la orientación y educación en la prevención de accidentes en la infancia.Trata-se de uma pesquisa quantitativa e descritiva, realizada em um pronto-socorro pediátrico no município de Belo Horizonte, objetivando contribuir na divulgação, para pais e profissionais de saúde, dos principais tipos de acidentes sofridos por crianças na faixa etária pesquisada. Os dados foram coletados dos boletins de atendimento, arquivados no setor de informática da instituição. Foram selecionados 499 boletins de crianças na faixa etária de um a três anos de idade, que foram atendidas no setor de emergência, vítimas de acidentes, no período de janeiro a dezembro de 2007. Os dados foram analisados tendo por fundamento a Classificação Internacional de Doenças e problemas relacionados à saúde (CID 10). Do total pesquisado, 42% são do sexo feminino e 58% do sexo masculino. Observou-se o predomínio de 64,5% de acidentes na faixa etária entre 1 e 2 anos em relação à faixa etária entre 2 e 3 anos (35,5%), sendo o trauma não especificado da cabeça o principal tipo de acidente responsável por essa diferença. Com base no diagnóstico médico e de acordo com a Classificação Internacional de Doenças (CID 10) e problemas relacionados à saúde, foram encontrados 92 tipos de acidentes que foram reagrupados, resultando em dez categorias: acidentes automobilísticos, hipotermia, corpo estranho, efeitos tóxicos, ferimentos, fraturas, intoxicações, quedas, queimaduras e traumas.
