Occupational accidents: an analysis of the Brazilian scientific production in health

Resumo: | This study intends to evaluate, through bibliographical research, the scientific production from 1994 to 2005, on health workers' occupational accidents, and especially workers in the pre-hospital service. Twenty-eight papers were selected from eight journals, mainly from the southeast area (75%). The principal aspects studied were: epidemiological (42%), knowledge on risks and occupational diseases (25%), under-notification of accidents (12%), and prevention and promotion of health (12%). Of the studies referred to, 74% were about nursing workers, 22.5% the multi-professional team, and 3.5% students. 100% of the studies were carried out in hospitals. Most of the accidents were related to the handling of sharp objects (42%). In spite of the activities involved, none of the studies evaluated the occupational accidents among workers of the pre-hospital service, although they are also part of the emergency service. |

Se seleccionaron veintiocho artículos de ocho periódicos, principalmente del área del sudeste (75%). Los principales aspectos estudiados fueron: epidemiológico (42%), conocimiento de riesgos y enfermedades profesionales (25%), sub-notificación de accidentes (12%), y prevención y promoción de salud (12%). De los estudios, el 74% se referían a profesionales de enfermería, 22.5% al equipo multiprofesional, y 3.5% a los estudiantes. Todos los estudios se llevaron a cabo en ambiente hospitalario. La mayoría de los accidentes está vinculado al manejo de objetos perforocortantes (42%). Ningún estudio evaluó accidentes entre profesionales de atención prehospitalaria, a pesar de que sus tareas son semejantes a los demás profesionales que trabajan en atención de urgencias.Neste estudo, objetivou-se avaliar, por meio de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, a produção científica, no período de 1994 a 2005, sobre os acidentes ocupacionais do trabalhador em saúde e, em especial, do profissional do atendimento pré-hospitalar. Foram selecionados 28 artigos publicados em 8 periódicos, provenientes, principalmente, da Região Sudeste (75%). Os aspectos mais estudados foram: epidemiológico (42%), conhecimento sobre riscos e doenças ocupacionais (25%), subnotificação dos acidentes (12%) e prevenção e promoção à saúde (12%). Dentre os estudos, 74% se referiam aos profissionais da enfermagem, 22,5% à equipe multiprofissional, 3,5% a graduandos e 100% estavam voltados para o ambiente hospitalar. A maior parte dos acidentes esteve relacionada ao manuseio de objetos perfurocortantes (42%).
