Resumo: This is a literature review study that concerns the use of ferrous sulfate during the pregnancy, and its goal is: to know the effects of daily and weekly use of ferrous sulfate in the gestational period and to identify the advantages and disadvantages of daily and weekly use of ferrous sulfate in the gestational period. The study results also indicated that there are still many uncertainties and controversies about the treatment, it is also important to let the pregnant woman know about the undesirable effect of the use of ferrous sulfate and to follow the treatment to prevent its precocious abandonment, due to the undesirable effects of the medicine.

Por medio de la literatura accessada fue posible constactar que todavia existen muchas incertidumbres y controversias en el tratamiento, siendo importante aclarar al gestante de los effectos indeseables del uso del sulfato ferroso y aconpanar lo tratamiento para prevenir su abandono precoce, debido a los efectos indeseables de la medicina.Trata-se de um estudo de revisão de literatura sobre o uso do sulfato ferroso durante a gravidez, que teve como objetivos: conhecer os efeitos da utilização do sulfato ferroso diário e semanal no período gestacional e identificar as vantagens e desvantagens da utilização do sulfato ferroso diário e semanal no período gestacional.
