Living de-gravidic puerperal cycle in adolescence: social-demographic and obstetric profile

Resumo: This research has identified the social-demographic and obstetric profile of 121 (one hundred and twenty-one) adolescents in gravidic-puerperal cycle, examined in a public maternity-hospital in Fortaleza-CE. The data were obtained by structured interview and were processed by computer software SPSS 11.0. The results were shown in table form and discussed based in revised literature. The ethical aspects were respected according to Resolution (Law) 196/96. Living through the gravidic-puerperal cycle in adolescence causes negative impacts and consequences to the social-demographic and obstetric development of adolescents. These impairments affect not only the mother, but also the baby, affecting the life prospects of both. Hence, educational programs about adolescent sexual health are necessary in order to prevent high risk to precocious maternity.

Los datos se recogieron a través de entrevista estructurada y se procesaron en el software SPSS 11.0. Los resultados se presentaron en forma de tablas y se discutieron en base a la literatura revista. Se respetaron los aspectos éticos, en conformidad con la resolución 196/96. La experiencia del ciclo gravídico-puerperal en la adolescencia causa impactos y consecuencias negativas en el desarrollo sociodemográfico y obstétrico de la joven. Los prejuicios no afectan sólo a la madre, sino también al bebé, diminuyendo las perspectivas de futuro de ambos. Por lo tanto, se necesitan programas educativos sobre salud sexual de la adolescente con la finalidad de prevenir el alto riesgo de una maternidad precoz.Neste trabalho, identificou-se o perfil sociodemográfico e obstétrico de 121 adolescentes em ciclo gravídico-puerperal, atendidas em um hospital-maternidade público de Fortaleza-CE. Os dados foram obtidos por meio de entrevista estruturada e processados no software de computador SPSS 11.0. Os resultados foram apresentados na forma de tabelas e discutidos com base na literatura revisada. Os aspectos éticos foram respeitados conforme a Resolução nº 196/96. A vivência do ciclo gravídico-puerperal na adolescência causa impactos e conseqüências negativas para o desenvolvimento sociodemográfico e obstétrico da jovem. Esses prejuízos não afetam apenas a mãe, mas também o bebê, diminuindo as perspectivas de futuro de ambos.
