Study of spontaneous demand at family health unit in a middle-sized town in the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil

Resumo: This is an exploratory-descriptive study carried out in a basic health care unit in a middle-sized town in the interior of the State of Minas Gerais. The objectives were: to describe the flow of spontaneous demand; identify the main complaints and defects in reception and to propose measures of intervention to better organize the flow and widen the work of the multi-professional team. The data collected by the health technicians were taken from 1040 patient visits. The greater number was of visits to the physician (67.7%), followed by nurses (17.8%) and nursing auxiliaries (13.3%). The main procedure was discharge (64%), followed by return (21.9%). The four groups of complaints of spontaneous demand were: respiratory (25.8%), dermatological (11%), gastrointestinal (10.2%) and osteomuscular (9.1%).

Sus objetivos fueron describir el flujo de demanda espontánea de la unidad básica, identificar las principales quejas y motivos de acogida y proponer medidas de intervención para organizar mejor el flujo y ampliar la actuación del equipo multiprofesional. Los datos colectados por los técnicos en salud son resultado de 1040 acogidas. En el análisis de flujo predominó la atención del médico (67,7%), luego del enfermero (17,8%) y después del auxiliar de enfermería (13,3%). Predominio de conducta de altas hospitalarias (64%) y después retornos (21%). Los cuatro grupos de quejas de demanda espontánea fueron: respiratoria (25,8%), dermatológicas (11%), gastrointestinales (10,2%) y osteomusculares (9,1%).Estudo exploratório-descritivo conduzido em uma Unidade Básica de Saúde de uma cidade de médio porte do interior de Minas Gerais, cujos objetivos foram: descrever o fluxo da demanda espontânea da unidade básica; identificar as principais queixas e agravos no acolhimento e propor medidas de intervenção para melhor organizar o fluxo e ampliar a atuação da equipe multiprofissional. Os dados, coletados pelos Técnicos Superiores de Saúde, foram resultados de 1040 acolhimentos. Na análise do fluxo, predominou o atendimento pelo médico (67,7%), seguido do enfermeiro (17,8%) e do auxiliar de enfermagem (13,3%). A conduta predominante foram as altas (64%), seguidas de retornos (21,9%).
