The influence of grandmothers in early weaning: a look at the family

Resumo: Breastfeeding is subject to influences which can bring about early weaning, and is greatly affected by the influence of grandmothers. This work, which is a bibliographical survey and a comparative analysis of healthcare, has the objective of finding studies that examine the influence of grandmothers in early weaning and compare them with the practice of the researchers. The results showed an agreement between the findings in the literature and the experience with researchers. To promote, protect and support breastfeeding with the mothers and grandmothers can contribute to the success of breastfeeding. We suggest strategies that cover generations, such as sharing knowledge to reinforce the importance of breastfeeding.

Entre ellos podemos citar la influencia de las abuelas. El objeto de este trabajo es identificar estudios que enfoquen la influencia de las abuelas en el desmame precoz y compararlos con la práctica de las investigadoras. METODOLOGÍA: investigación bibliográfica y análisis comparativo de la práctica asistencial. RESULTADOS: la práctica coincide con la literatura. CONCLUSIÓN: promover, proteger y apoyar la lactancia materna entre nodrizas y abuelas podrá contribuir al éxito de la amamantación. Se sugiere desarrollar estrategias que afecten las distintas generaciones con miras a compartir conocimientos que refuercen el acto de amamantar.A amamentação sofre influências que acabam por desencadear o desmame precoce, destacando a influência das avós. Este trabalho tem como objetivo, identificar estudos que abordem a influência das avós no desmame precoce e confrontá-los com a prática das pesquisadoras. METODOLOGIA: pesquisa bibliográfica e análise comparativa da prática assistencial. RESULTADOS: demonstraram a convergência do encontrado na literatura com a experiência das pesquisadoras. CONCLUSÃO: promover, proteger e apoiar o aleitamento materno para nutrizes e avós poderá contribuir para o sucesso da amamentação.
