Resumo: This study intends to analyze the quality of information recorded on the registration cards of pregnant women during prenatal care. The data was collected in a maternity in the city of São Paulo with 44 women who had deliveries, of which only 43% had these cards. On these cards, 90% showed 6 or more consultations; 63% had the woman's name written correctly, 84% included their age, 31% their weight; 68% the height of the uterus and 37% were illegible. On all the cards there was a record of blood type, but none of them had parasite or edema tests. We emphasize the need to make prenatal health professionals aware of the importance of filling out fully and completely the cards for continuous assistance.
