Resumo: The Nursing Consultation (NC) is characterized as a nurse's private practice, which provides the conditions for this professional act directly and fully independent, since it uses scientific methods to identify any health disease. This study was carried out with the proposal to address the NC in the context of primary health care, and aims to understand what are the users' perceptions of primary care about the NC. It is a qualitative, exploratory performed with 29 users of the Unified Health System in Belo Horizonte - MG, who were interviewed in July 2011, through a semi-structured individual interviews. The data were analyzed according to the technique of content analysis proposed by Bardin, which emerged four categories, these being: The perception of users about the nurse; Communication in Nursing Consultation, The nurse and health education; Nurses primary care as part of multidisciplinary action. The results showed that users see the nurse as a professional atmosphere, which favors an approach that with the user; Note also that the NC during the nurse to establish a satisfactory communication and promotes health education, finally realizes that users recognize the nurse as an active member of the multidisciplinary team. It is concluded that the NC is an important tool that nursing has to invest in promotion and prevention of diseases, however, is still held in some health services, resulting in a shortage of studies that address this issue in the scientific community.
