Resumo: This paper presents results of research on the process of the creation and legalization of small industries in the Minas Gerais State and the information practices of fashion designers - who are also the business owner and manager. The theoretical foundation is given by Bourdieu and Dervin. Conclusions show that there is a direct relation in the information practices of fashion designers and their previous experiences in the fashion industry field.

Utiliza como referencial teórico a noção de campo social apresentada por Bourdieu e os trabalhos sobre informação de Dervin.
