Resumo: This paper proposes a mathematical model for expressive timing in German late Romantic organ music based on Riemannian phrasing principles. The model is built following the symmetric hierarchical motivic scheme and then applied to the organ work of Max Reger. It was shown that music expressive content is carried by the model parameter defined as temporal elasticity. Along with the standard analytical and empirical evaluation, the model was also evaluated in terms of its naturalness. We found that the correlation between model and human performance is comparable with the correlation between distinct professional human interpretations.

We found that the correlation between model and human performance is comparable with the correlation between distinct professional human interpretations. Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG)2021-06-21info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersiontexttextinfo:eu-repo/semantics/othertext/xmlapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.ufmg.br/index.php/permusi/article/view/2608010.35699/2317-6377.2020.26080Per Musi; No. 40 (2020): Thematic Session: Computing Performed Music; 1-17Per Musi; Núm. 40 (2020): Thematic Session: Computing Performed Music; 1-17Per Musi; n. 40 (2020): Thematic Session: Computing Performed Music; 1-172317-63771517-7599reponame:Per Musiinstname:Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG)instacron:UFMGenghttps://periodicos.ufmg.br/index.php/permusi/article/view/26080/37645https://periodicos.ufmg.br/index.php/permusi/article/view/26080/27513Copyright (c) 2021 Per Musihttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessDraginda, YuliaFujinaga, Ichiro2023-05-09T17:49:20Zoai:periodicos.ufmg.br:article/26080Revistahttp://www.scielo.br/revistas/pm/iaboutj.htmPUBhttps://old.scielo.br/oai/scielo-oai.phpantoniom@fgvnf.br||permusi@ufmg.br2317-63771517-7599opendoar:2023-05-09T17:49:20Per Musi - Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG)false
