Extending right-hand guitar technique: a study on repetition by sliding

Resumo: Considering the instrumental technique an organism in constant transformation, gradually encompassing extended techniques and converting them into traditional ones, this article investigates repetition by sliding, a resource of the guitar technique in which a right-hand finger attacks a string and in the same movement, subsequently, attacks the adjacent string. The analyses and discussions are based on the few texts that mention the resource and on examples from the didactic and concert guitar repertoire. Four situations are exposed in which repetition by sliding is found in the references: arpeggios of various strings, melodic arpeggios, scales and ornaments; finally, two situations of application of the resource that are absent in the bibliography are presented: contrast between voices and rapid movements on adjacent strings.

Los análisis y discusiones se basan en los pocos textos que mencionan el recurso y en ejemplos del repertorio didáctico y de concierto de la guitarra. Se exponen cuatro situaciones en las que se encuentra la repetición por deslizamiento en las referencias: arpegios de varias cuerdas, arpegios melódicos, escalas y ornamentos; finalmente, se presentan dos situaciones de aplicación del recurso que están ausentes en la bibliografía: el contraste entre voces y los movimientos rápidos sobre cuerdas adyacentes.Considerando a técnica instrumental um organismo em constantes transformações, abrangendo pouco a pouco técnicas estendidas e convertendo-as em tradicionais, o presente artigo investiga a repetição por deslizamento, recurso da técnica violonística na qual um dedo da mão direita ataca uma corda e no mesmo movimento, subsequentemente, ataca a corda adjacente. As análises e discussões são embasadas nos poucos textos que mencionam o recurso e em exemplos do repertório violonístico didático e de concerto.
