Based on the results of the experimental investigations, a new material model for masonry bricks was developed. This model was implemented with a user subroutine developed in ANSYS AUTODYN. These material models, which are suitable for a detailed micro-model approach, consider the dynamic increase of the material strength and the degradation of the material properties due to fracture and material damage.
