A mastite se caracteriza pela inflamação da glândula mamária trazendo consigo a queda da produção do animal, além da aplicação sucessiva de antibióticos pode ser um dos favores a causar multirresistência e não conseguindo sanar a doença. Atualmente estuda-se a utilização de óleos essenciais, como o alecrim pimenta, sendo isto como solução alternativa para o combate de microrganismos ultirresistentes, utilizou-se quatorze cepas de Staphylococcus aureus frente ao teste de disco-difusão com concentrações diferentes do óleo, sendo estas concentrações 0μl, 30μl, 60μl, 120μl e 240 μl. O óleo de alecrim-pimenta apresentou baixa atividade frente as cepas isoladas sendo a concentração de 240 μl a mais eficiente, a eficiência do óleo foi variável de acordo a cada grupo genético analisado.In present days, dairy farming is one of the sectors that shows continuous growth generating high profitability to the country, but it has difficulties, since the herd can be affected by diseases such as mastitis. Mastitis is characterized by the inflammation of the mammary gland causing the fall of animal’s production, and the successive application of antibiotics can be a important reason for ultiresistance’s increase and most of times it can’t cure the disease. Studies have started to find alternative solutions for the control of multiresistant microorganisms and the use of essential oils have obtained recognition, highlighting oil of rosemary pepper, fourteen Staphylococcus aureus strains were used in the disc diffusion test with different concentrations of the oil – 0μl, 30μl, 60μl, 120μl and 240μl.
