Tal proposta visa refletir sobre as possibilidades de aprendizagem da pessoa idosa e sugerir práticas que levem os estudantes idosos a desenvolverem suas capacidades de escrita, exercitando-as, primeiramente, com práticas de leitura protocolada, realizando comandos que requerem inferências textuais, com compreensão da estrutura de textos e, posteriormente, investindo em técnicas de produção de textos (inicialmente, com atividades de escrita simples e, na produção final, a redação de um texto no gênero “relato pessoal”), com a finalidade de diminuir suas possíveis dificuldades e melhorar a qualidade de sua escrita. O arcabouço teórico dessa dissertação foi composto por Freire (1989; 1991; 1996), Soares (2004, 2006, 2020); Patto (2008); Alheit & Dausien (2006); Yuni & Urbano (2009) e Knowles (1970) – em estudos sobre a EJA e sobre as possibilidades de aprendizagem para adultos e idosos; e BAKHTIN (2000); Solé (1998); Kleiman (1992, 2002 e 2013); e Leal (2000, 2018) – em estudos sobre estratégias e protocolos de leitura e escrita.Motivated by the experiences I have in EJA (youth and adult education) and for the desire to contribute to the expansion of academic research involving the elderly public, specifically, I have as objective in this dissertation the proposition of workshops that can improve the reading and writing proficiency of elderly students from in elementary school II - 6th to 9th grade, more specifically in the “blended learning” teaching modality of CESEC (State Center for Continuing Education). This proposal aims to reflect on the learning possibilities of the elderly and suggest practices that lead older students to develop their writing abilities, exercising them, primarily, with protocol reading practices, performing commands that require textual inferences, with understanding of the structure of texts and, posteriorly, investing in text production techniques (initially, with simple writing activities and, in the final production, writing a text in the genre “personal report”), in order to reduce their possible difficulties and improve the quality of their writing.
