Entretanto, durante o funcionamento dessas máquinas vibrações acústicas são geradas e transmitidas e, quando estas ocorrem em níveis indesejados e por longos períodos de exposição, superiores ao suportável, podem causar problemas de saúde aos trabalhadores expostos. Nesse contexto, o presente trabalho teve como objetivo quantificar o nível de ruído no qual os operadores de feller buncher utilizados para a colheita florestal estão expostos, sendo desenvolvido em uma empresa de celulose localizada na cidade de Estreito, interior do Estado do Maranhão. Para a quantificação do ruído, utilizou-se o dosímetros da marca 01dB, modelo Wed 007, seguindo a metodologia estabelecida pela Norma de Higiene Ocupacional 01 (NHO-01), e os resultados obtidos foram submetidos ao enquadramento do Anexo I da Norma Regulamentadora 15 (NR-15) que trata sobre as Atividades e Operações Insalubres com exposição ao agente físico ruído. A avaliação do agente ocupacional ruído apontou para um nível equivalente a 65.3 dB (A), para uma jornada de trabalho de 8 horas por dia. Conclui-se que a máquina florestal feller buncher apresentou níveis de ruído dentro do limite permitido na legislação vigente, não representando riscos de desenvolvimento de doenças ocupacionais em seus operadores causadas por esse agente físico.Among all stages of wood production, forest harvesting is also the one that most experiences the mechanization process, with companies employing large and high-tech machines. However, during the operation of these machines acoustic vibrations are generated and transmitted, and when they occur at unwanted levels and for longer than tolerable periods of exposure, they may cause health problems to exposed workers. In this context, the present work aimed to quantify the noise level at which feller buncher operators, machines for forest harvesting, are exposed, being developed in a pulp company located in the city of Estreito state of Maranhão. For noise quantification, the 01dB dosimeter, Wed 007 model was used, following the methodology established by Occupational Hygiene Standard 01 (NHO-01) and the results obtained were submitted to the framework of Annex I of Regulatory Standard 15 (NR-15) which deals with unhealthy activities and operations with exposure to physical noise agent. The occupational agent noise assessment pointed to a level equivalent to 65.3 dB (A), for a workday of 8 hours per day.
