Resumo: Zebrafish is a small teleost (bony) fish used in many areas of pharmacology and toxicology. This animal model has advantages for the discovery of anti-inflammatory drugs, such as the potential for real-time assessment of cell migration mechanisms. Additionally, zebrafish display a repertoire of inflammatory cells, mediators, and receptors that are similar to those in mammals, including humans. Inflammatory disease modeling in either larvae or adult zebrafish represents a promising tool for the screening of new anti-inflammatory compounds, contributing to our understanding of the mechanisms involved in chronic inflammatory conditions. In this review, we provide an overview of the characterization of inflammatory responses in zebrafish, emphasizing its relevance for drug discovery in this research area.

Este modelo animal tem vantagens para a descoberta de anti-inflamatórios, como o potencial para avaliação em tempo real de mecanismos de migração celular. Além disso, o peixe-zebra exibe um repertório de células inflamatórias, mediadores e receptores semelhantes aos dos mamíferos, incluindo humanos. Modelagem de doenças inflamatórias em larvas ou peixe-zebra adulto representa uma ferramenta promissora para a triagem de novos compostos anti-inflamatórios, contribuindo para a nossa compreensão os mecanismos envolvidos nas condições inflamatórias crônicas. Nessa revisão, fornecemos uma visão geral da caracterização de doenças inflamatórias respostas em peixe-zebra, enfatizando sua relevância para a descoberta de drogas neste área de pesquisa.CNPq - Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e TecnológicoFAPEMIG - Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de Minas GeraisFAPESP - Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São PauloengUniversidade Federal de Minas GeraisUFMGBrasilFAR - DEPARTAMENTO DE ANÁLISES CLÍNICAS E TOXICOLÓGICASICB - DEPARTAMENTO DE FARMACOLOGIAICB - DEPARTAMENTO DE MORFOLOGIAVET - DEPARTAMENTO DE ZOOTECNIABiomedicine & PharmacotherapyPeixe-zebraImunidade inataInflamaçãoAnti-inflamatóriosReação a corpo estranhoTransplante heterólogoInflamatory reactionTeleost fishInnate immunityAccute and chronic inflamationForeing body reactionXenotransplantationZebrafish as a model to study inflammation: a tool for drug discoveryinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/articlehttps://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0753332221010945Marco Antonio de Andrade BeloMelque Ferrari de OliveiraSusana Luporini de OliveiraMayumi Fernanda AracatiLetícia Franchin RodriguesCamila Carlino da CostaGabriel CondeJuliana Moreira Mendonça GomesMariana Nathuê Lôbo PrataAyslan BarraThalita Marcolan ValverdeDaniela Chemim de Melo HoyosSilas Fernandes EtoDayanne Carla FernandesMarina Gomes Miranda e Castor RomeroJosé Dias Corrêa JuniorJuliana de Oliveira SilvaAndré Luís Branco de BarrosAndrea de Castro PerezIves Charlie da Silvaapplication/pdfinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório Institucional da UFMGinstname:Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG)instacron:UFMGLICENSELicense.txtLicense.txttext/plain;
