Tomada neste presente texto a partir de uma ótica estética, ou seja, trazendo o temperamento melancólico para dentro das composições e figurações da poesia, faz-se relevante observar de que maneira Drummond enxerga e lida com esse sentimento e, ainda, como ele o transfigura em sua obra sob as mais diferentes facetas, a partir de procedimentos que sugerem uma multiplicidade de fatores formais e temáticos, mas, claro, com uma linha de continuidade que faz ver um traço comum a essa vasta e complexa poesia. Foram tomados como base, para essas considerações, três poemas centrais para a obra de Drummond: “Poema de Sete Faces” (Alguma Poesia, 1930), “A Flor e a Náusea” (A Rosa do Povo, 1945) e “Relógio do Rosário” (Claro Enigma, 1951). A presente dissertação visa à exploração pormenorizada desses poemas, usando como bases de referência aspectos conceituais os mais diversos, principalmente aqueles que de alguma forma se relacionam com a questão da melancolia, aspectos críticos da vasta bibliografia sobre Carlos Drummond de Andrade e, principalmente, uma seleção mais ampla de outros poemas da obra de Drummond que objetivam dar suporte e concretizar as leituras feitas dos poemas centrais selecionados.This present essay intends to create a view about the poetry of Carlos Drummond de Andrade under the meaning of melancholy. Taken in this present work from an aesthetic point of view, that is, bringing the melancholic temperament into the compositions and figurations of poetry, it is relevant to observe how Drummond sees and deals with this feeling and, also, how he transfigures it in his books under the most different facets, from procedures that suggest a multiplicity of formal and thematic factors, but, of course, with a line of continuity that reveals a common thread to this vast and complex poetry. As a basis for these considerations, were taken three central poems to Drummond's work: “Poema de Sete Faces” (Alguma Poesia, 1930), “A Flor e a Náusea” (A Rosa do Povo, 1945) and “Relógio do Rosário” (Claro Enigma, 1951).
