Resumo: Nursing consultation is an exclusive activity of the nurse and has its greatest applicability in public health programs. This study aimed to analyze the scientific production of nursing consultation and its importance in the family health strategy and discuss the importance of the nursing consultation in the context of family health and vocational development, and consequently the optimization of service and satisfaction users. The methodology used was a narrative review, which sought a bibliographic database in SCIELO, LILACS and BDENF from selected keywords. From donates identified articles were selected from 25 articles available in full text and Portuguese, and which met the objectives of the study. The review took place from the reading of selected articles which attempt to identify those who cited the importance of nursing consultation to establish the link between user, family and community, development of promotional activities and health care and most importantly the development of health education. It was concluded that the studies in nursing consultation is an important working tool for the nurse working in the family health strategy, but it is little valued by the people and managers.

Este trabalho teve como objetivos analisar a produção científica nacional sobre consulta de enfermagem e discutir a importância da consulta de enfermagem no contexto da saúde da família e a valorização profissional e, conseqüentemente, a otimização do serviço e a satisfação dos usuários. A metodologia utilizada foi uma revisão narrativa e pesquisa bibliográfica foi realizada nos banco de dados do SCIELO, LILACS e BDENF, por meio dos descritores selecionados. Foram selecionados 25 artigos disponíveis em texto completo e em português e, que atendiam aos objetivos do estudo. A revisão se deu a partir da leitura dos artigos selecionados onde se buscou identificar aqueles que apontavam a importância da consulta de enfermagem no contexto da saúde da família e importância da mesma para o reconhecimento do trabalho do enfermeiro e a valorização desta atividade para os usuários.
