The community health agent are an important strategy for improving and consolidating the Family Health Strategy and represents an important part in the involvement of the population to cope with health problems . Given the importance of these professionals, emphasized by the Ministry of Health, the aim of this study was to reflect identified from the literature on the importance of training of community health workers with benefits such as improvement in attention and assistance . This is a study of integrative literature through research conducted on the basis of the Virtual Health Library ( VHL ), during the period November to December2013. After the reading of graded texts , 10 articles were included in the sample . The results showed that the educational process of the ACS is a challenge because it lacks specific training. There are many actions attributed to ACS in primary care, and the knowledge they hold are insufficient to cope with the problems they face in their daily work routine. It was possible to reflect the context in which the training and the ACS as its deficit interferes in team work and responding to the community. It is important that further training of ACS is a reality and so a better and greater use of these multipliers potential occurs in the sense of actions and improvements in health services.
