McManus, Pediastrum Meyen, Sorastrum Kütz., Stauridium Corda e Tetraedron Kütz. Os táxons foram registrados a partir de 104 amostras (perifíticas e planctônicas) coletadas em duas áreas do Pantanal dos Marimbus (Baiano e Remanso), pertencente à Área de Proteção Ambiental Marimbus-Iraquara, Chapada Diamantina, Bahia, Brasil, durante o período seco (abril, junho e agosto de 2011) e período chuvoso (outubro, dezembro de 2011 e fevereiro de 2012). Dentre as espécies identifi cadas, seis tiveram a distribuição geográfi ca ampliada para a Região Nordeste do Brasil: Pediastrum angulosum (Ehrenb.) Menegh, P. argentinense Bourr. & Tell, Sorastrum americanum (Bohlin) Schmidle, S. spinulosum Nägeli, Tetraedron caudatum (Corda) Hansg., T. minimum (A. Braun) Hansg.This study is a floristic survey of the family Hydrodictyaceae where were found nine taxa distributed in fi ve genera: Lacunastrum H. McManus, Pediastrum Meyen, Sorastrum Kütz., Stauridium Corda and Tetraedron Kütz. The taxa were recorded from 104 samples (periphyton and plankton) collected in two areas of the Pantanal swamp (Baiano and Remanso), belonging to the Environmental Protection Area Marimbus-Iraquara, Chapada Diamantina, Bahia, Brazil, during the dry season (April, June and August 2011) and rainy season (October, December 2011 and February 2012). The geographic distribution of six taxa (Pediastrum angulosum (Ehrenb.) Menegh, P. argentinense Bourr. & Tell, Sorastrum americanum (Bohlin) Schmidle, S. spinulosum Nägeli, Tetraedron caudatum (Corda) Hansg., T. minimum (A.
