Resumo: Companies have increasingly sought quality software that are crucial in the fight for market. This software must be precise, agile and have a good cost-benefit analysis. To achieve these characteristics, processes and methodologies of software engineering are required, but is still not enough. The software should be focusing on the business, always with the goal of guiding the processes of decision making. So, the areas of Information Technology and Business need to be aligned. The Information Technology projects need to consider the company's business strategy. This work reports the need for greater involvement of the software engineer with the Business Area and at what stage of the project developed the strategic alignment should be observed. Strategic alignment practices from some models of existing software engineering are described. At the end are presented concepts, models and tools to assist the software engineer in the pursuit of strategic alignment.

Estes softwares devem ser precisos, ágeis e ter uma boa relação custo-benefício. Para conseguir estas características, os processos e metodologias da Engenharia de Software são indispensáveis, mas ainda não é o bastante. O software deve estar com o foco no negócio da empresa, sempre com o objetivo de orientar nos processos de tomada de decisão. Para isso as áreas de Tecnologia da Informação e de Negócios precisam estar alinhadas. Ou seja, os projetos de Tecnologia da Informação precisam levar em consideração a estratégia de negócios da empresa. Este trabalho aborda a necessidade de maior envolvimento do engenheiro de software com a área de negócio, e, a identificação da fase de projeto em que o alinhamento estratégico deve ser observado. São descritas práticas de alinhamento estratégico de alguns modelos de Engenharia de Software existentes.
