Resumo: Of all types of cancer except skin cancer, melanoma, breast cancer is more common in women worldwide (roughly one million new cases estimated each year). Today the greatest challenge of INCA is to expand the actions of health promotion, prevention and early diagnosis to reduce rates of cancer incidence and mortality, as well as providing quality of life for patients. In this sense the present study has the general objective: to analyze the interference of mastectomy on quality of life of patients. It is an integrative review, since it allows to summarize the research already completed, and draw conclusions from a topic of interest. To collect data an instrument was developed in order to facilitate the process of collecting and analyzing data. We consider that most publications were made by doctors and teachers, publications made by nurses are scarce in this increasingly smaller number of publications made by professionals in the nursing area, so have an incentive for this class is to play more obtain a meaningful content in their publications and more scientific knowledge, we can consider that most of the designs are primary studies / qualitative level of evidence, weak, where the researcher seeks to answer the problem of study in the research subjects, we can observe an agreement among the authors of the publications where the authors agree that mastectomy leads to an affected body image in women and also a disagreement between them where some cite that mastectomy causes anguish, grief, stress, depression, psychosocial sequelae, which leads to a series of factors, with a trigger other symptoms. Given what was seen and analyzed, it can be concluded that women face breast cancer is susceptible to various changes in your life both socially and personally and through this study we see that the health professionals, especially nurses who are constantly monitoring the patient must be prepared to treat these patients in a holistic manner to meet all your needs in order to promote this humane patient care.
