Essa reflexão justifica-se pela tendência recente do ensino superior no Brasil, em todos os campos disciplinares, marcada por sua mercantilização e massificação, aliada, especificamente na área de Arquitetura e Urbanismo, pela ênfase histórica no objeto arquitetônico em detrimento da abordagem urbano-ambiental, em escala ampliada. Entre os objetivos deste artigo destacam-se: (a) evidenciar a baixa concentração de conteúdos curriculares relacionados a questões territoriais, comuns na formação do arquiteto urbanista brasileiro; (b) evidenciar a tendência a desterritorialização do ensino, tanto presencial quanto remotamente; e (c) discutir uma proposta de formação inovadora, de base territorial, em implementação em uma cidade de porte médio, como elemento de contraste. Do ponto de vista da metodologia, tendo o cenário da educação superior brasileira como pano de fundo, o artigo analisa e compara as estruturas curriculares de cursos de Arquitetura e Urbanismo de diferentes instituições, em oferta no Estado de Minas Gerais, Brasil. O resultado obtido mostra que há uma formação orientada preferencialmente para uma arquitetura autoral e, mesmo quando se tem uma maior densidade de conteúdos de ordenamento do território, ela é circunscrita à dimensão teórica e projetiva, sem preocupação de natureza instrumental. Em conclusão, evidencia-se que o ensino e a prática têm uma relação direta, ou seja, uma formação restrita vincula-se a uma prática profissional também restrita, ou, inversamente, que um desempenho ampliado, dentro das prerrogativas legais da profissão, e a confrontação com uma Nova Agenda Urbana, em seus múltiplos contextos regionais, requerem uma formação estruturada de acordo com o território onde é desenvolvida.This article analyzes the relevance of linking the Architecture and Urbanism Education to the regional context. This reflection is justified by the recent trend of higher education in Brazil in all disciplinary fields, marked by its commercialization and massification, explicitly allied in the field of Architecture and Urbanism, from a historical emphasis on the architectural object to the detriment of the urban-environmental approach, on an enlarged scale. Among the aims of the article, we highlight: (a) evidence of low concentration of curricular contents related to territorial issues, common in the training of the urban planners and architects in Brazil; (b) proof of the tendency towards the deterritorialization of teaching, both in-person and distantly; (c) discuss an innovative, territorial-based training proposal, being implemented in a medium-sized city, as a contrasting element. From the methodological point of view, considering the Brazilian higher education scenario as a background, the article analyzes and compares curricular structures of Architecture and Urbanism courses, from different institutions, that are offered in the state of Minas Gerais, Brasil. The obtained result shows that there is a formation preferably oriented towards an authorial architecture, and even when there is a higher density of spatial planning content, they are limited to a theoretical and design dimension, without any concern of an instrumental nature. In conclusion, it is evident that teaching and practice have a direct relationship, which means that restricted training is linked to professional practice that is also restricted.
