Resumo: The present work is a result of the theoretical researches concerning the drug addiction theme, raised from a work in a CAPS ad. It is believed that the patient’s psychoanalytic listening, mainly those which refer to the more severe cases, it is an ethical conduct, which regards the professional practice of each one and services’ philosophy. One of the clinical issues often noted is the subjective position infantilized supported by a relation with narcissistic characteristics with the mother. Thereby the main hypothesis of this research is that the drug addiction experience of these patients resembles narcissism experience in its strands, madness and attempt of cure. From a clinical case report and the development of Freudian concept of narcissism, it was observed the similarity of the experiences and the role they can play in the patient’s life,

Acredita-se que a escuta psicanalítica dos pacientes, especialmente as que se referem aos casos considerados mais graves, é uma conduta ética, que diz respeito à prática profissional de cada um e à filosofia do serviço. Uma das questões clínicas observadas com bastante frequência nos pacientes é a da sua posição subjetiva infantilizada, sustentada por uma relação com características narcísicas com a mãe. Dessa forma, a hipótese principal dessa pesquisa é a de que a experiência da toxicomania desses pacientes se assemelha à experiência do narcisismo em suas vertentes, loucura e tentativa de cura.
