O objetivo desse trabalho foi desenvolver uma nova rota de produção para se obter uma microestrutura completamente esferoidizada. Avaliou-se a microestrutura do aço e suas propriedades mecânicas após recozimento intercrítico com maior taxa de resfriamento que o usual, seguido de conformação a frio em diferentes reduções de área e, por fim, após recozimentos subcríticos em que os tempos de encharque foram variados. Foi observado que a rota considerando o recozimento intercrítico com taxa de resfriamento 8,6 vezes maior que a convencional, seguido de alta redução a frio e recozimento subcrítico com tempo de encharque de 1 hora viabiliza a completa esferoidização do aço SAE 52100. Para baixas reduções a frio, mesmo após o recozimento subcrítico durante 3 horas de encharque, as amostras apresentaram carbonetos lamelares. Em relação as propriedades mecânicas, para uma mesma redução a frio, não foram observadas diferenças significativas para as características limite de escoamento, resistência à tração e dureza com o aumento do tempo de encharque durante recozimento subcrítico. Entretanto, o limite de escoamento para as amostras submetidas a maior redução a frio foi, em média, superior ao limite de escoamento para as amostras submetidas a menor redução a frio.Considering the high cost associated with the spheroidization heat treatment of bearing steels, it is necessary to study alternatives to decrease the annealing heat treatment time. This work aimed to develop a new manufacturing route in order to obtain a completely spheroidized microstructure. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the steel were evaluated after intercritical annealing with higher cooling rate than the conventional one, followed by cold deformation with different reductions in area, and subcritical annealings with different soaking times. It has been observed that the route considering the intercritical annealing with cooling rate 8.6 times higher than the conventional one, followed by a high cold reduction and subcritical annealing for 1 hour turns feasible the complete spheroidization of SAE 52100 steel. For low cold reductions, even with subcritical annealing during 3 hours, the samples showed lamellar carbides. Regarding the mechanical properties, for the same cold reduction, it was not identified significative difference for yield strength, tensile strength and hardness by increasing the soaking time during subcritical annealing.
