Resumo: | This paper discusses the “culturalist dilemma” in the field of Physical Education in Brazil under the perspective of two important authors: Mauro Betti and Valter Bracht. Propositions of culturalist nature were very important for the field because, in addition to providing various epistemological advances, they supported the construction of several curriculum guidelines in Brazil. After characterizing the dilemma and its ambiguity, the study describes the ways in which Mauro Betti and Valter Bracht problematized it. |

Después de caracterizar el dilema y su ambigüedad, describe los modos por los cuales Mauro Betti y Valter Bracht lo problematizan.O artigo discute o “dilema culturalista” no campo da Educação Física brasileira sob o olhar de dois importantes autores: Mauro Betti e Valter Bracht. As propostas de cunho culturalista foram muito relevantes para o campo, pois, além de proporcionarem diversos avanços epistemológicos, embasaram a construção de diversas diretrizes curriculares produzidas no Brasil.
