Resumo: Result of a scientific initiation research, this study presents the characterization of five leisure parks in the city of Salto - SP and analyzes their uses based on a bibliographic and documentary review. We know that it is in the city that most people can have access to leisure and how much it is necessary to promote public policies that democratize the use of places, collaborating for educational processes and appropriation of rights around the city and leisure experiences. Thus, in this investigation, we researched Lavras parks, Rocha Montonneé, Parque do Lago, Ilha da Usina and the Memorial park of the Tietê river. We identified that the city of Salto is a tourist resort, its parks are distributed based on the geographic region of the city that has the Tietê River as its main vector and essential attraction; we note that the documents analyzed (master plan and city hall website) do not express a policy around the uses of the parks and their specific characteristics for the local community, focusing on tourism as the city's central regulator and device.

Sabemos que es en la ciudad donde la mayoría de la gente puede acceder al ocio y cuánto es necesario impulsar políticas públicas que democraticen el uso de los lugares, colaborando para los procesos educativos y de apropiación de derechos en torno a la ciudad y experiencias de ocio. Así, en esta investigación investigamos los parques Lavras, Rocha Montonneé, Parque do Lago, Ilha da Usina y el parque Memorial del río Tietê. Identificamos que la ciudad de Salto es un balneario turístico, sus parques se distribuyen en función de la región geográfica de la ciudad que tiene al río Tietê como principal vector y atractivo esencial; observamos que los documentos analizados (plan maestro y sitio web del ayuntamiento) no expresan una política sobre los usos de los parques y sus características específicas para la comunidad local, centrándose en el turismo como regulador y dispositivo central de la ciudad.Resultado de uma pesquisa de iniciação científica, esse estudo apresenta a caracterização de cinco parques de lazer na cidade de Salto – SP e analisa os seus usos a partir de uma revisão bibliográfica e documental. Sabemos que é na cidade que grande parte das pessoas podem ter acesso ao lazer e o quanto é necessário promover políticas públicas que democratizem o uso dos locais colaborando para processos educativos e apropriação dos direitos em torno da cidade e das experiências de lazer. Assim, nesta investigação, pesquisamos os parques da Lavras, o Rocha Montonneé, o Parque do Lago, Ilha da Usina e o parque Memorial do rio Tietê.
