Resumo: | This article has as its aim the analysis of the institutionalization process of school groups in Mato Grosso as of the educational reform of 1910, focusing on southern region of the state - now the State of South Mato Grosso -, in the decades from 1910 to 1930. The study is based on primary sources made up of laws, regulations, presidential messages sent to the Legislative Assembly of the State, reports from inspectors, as well as newspapers from that time. The institution of school groups, as an innovative model of primary school organization in Brazil, within the ambit of the First Republic, despite carrying out the educational policies of the state, was slow throughout the period. |
