Resumo: This article seeks to analyze, in different narratives about D. Pedro II, at the present time, how mythical and heroic he is by them. It does so from theoretical and historiographic readings that show the construction of heroes as a strategy and function of / in the history of Brazil. There is a perpetuation of narratives about the Emperor, sometimes removed from his historical environment, and transformed into an exemplar for the present. In this way, these narratives about the monarch build him from mythical and / or heroic figures.

Pedro II, no tempo presente, o quão mitificado e heroicizado é por elas. O faz a partir de leituras teóricas e historiográficas que evidenciam a construção de heróis como estratégia e função da/na história do Brasil. Verifica-se a perpetuação de narrativas sobre o Imperador retirado, por vezes, do seu ambiente histórico, e transformado em exemplaridade para o presente.
