Resumo: The present TCC has as its theme the representation of King Herod I of Judea in the work "Jewish Antiquities" by Flavius Josephus, dating back to the first century of the common era (1st CE). The objective of this study was to analyze the literary genre of the work, helping to contextualize it and understand its historical period. Furthermore, we sought to analyze the discursive construction about Herod I and reflect on the author's social position. Therefore, the TCC sought to shed light on how Herod I of Judea was portrayed and interpreted in the literature of Flavius Josephus, thus highlighting the historical and social context in which this work was created. By analyzing the literary construction of Herod I of Judea based on the work of Flavius Josephus, readers can gain a deeper understanding of the historical figure and the representation made of him in ancient sources.

Além disso, almejou-se examinar a construção discursiva sobre Herodes I e refletir sobre o papel social do autor. Nesse sentido, o TCC se propôs a lançar luz sobre a representação e interpretação de Herodes I da Judeia na literatura de Flávio Josefo, destacando o contexto histórico e social em que a referida obra foi concebida.
