Resumo: The study highlights the importance of urban climate in urban and environmental planning, especially given the accelerated growth of urban areas, notably in Brazil. Elements such as roughness and vegetation removal influence the urban climate, altering energy interactions and resulting in climate impacts. The relationship between urban expansion, climate change and its impacts on activities and quality of life stands out. The study was carried out in Ribas do Rio Pardo, MS, highlighting its population growth, changes in land use and the economic and environmental importance of the region. The main objective was to analyze how changes in land use impacted the local climate between 2013 and 2023, using climate mapping and geostatistics techniques. The methodological procedures include climate assessment, use of satellite images to map land use and occupation, and analysis of climate data using geostatistics. The research highlights the importance of kriging in the spatial interpolation of climate data. The results show a trend towards a warmer and wetter climate in Ribas do Rio Pardo, with illustrative maps and graphs.
